Peter Maher has one of the best speced home studios in Ireland. He’s running a Protools HD3 system with Waves plugins, Apogee Ad/Da converters, Neve, Avalon and Manley for the analogue elements plus Neumann Akg and sE mics. All this is monitored through Genelecs .
We treated his converted double garage with Auralex.Pretty impressive I think you’ll agree.
On the day of this photo Peter’s trying the Manley Vari Mu Compressor and the New Neve 8816 Summing mixer, both of which he’s now using!
Peter started off on a Digi 001 system 2 years ago and felt, while he was getting good results he wanted to get the sound better. There’s only one way to do that…. Good gear!

Steven Milne’s day job is touring the world with Daniel O’Donnell as his keyboard player.
While not on tour he’s also an in demand Record Producer and Orchestra arranger. Steve recently came to Audio Warehouse for our help in upgrading his studio without breaking the bank. As you’ll see from the photo his converted Garage Studio is acoustically treated and we’ve hooked him up with some nice front end so he’s making better recordings in a better room. Surely a goal for all serious home recordists?
Of particular note in Steve’s studio is, behind the point this photo was taken, is a well stocked bar!

Joe Egan has accomplished a lot for a man of his age. Only in his twenties, Joe has been in a successful Recording/Touring band, Studied Recording Technology and now owns what is rapidly turning into one of the best studios in Ireland.
Based in Clara in the midlands Joe has big spacious, luxurious rooms that sound and look great.
The space advantage is maximized to make a studio that’s great for band recording. You’ll notice lots of Neve preamps and the new Rupert Neve Portico too. A modern studio but, if need be - an ‘analogue’ style sound.

Damhan Nagle is one of the busiest guitar teacher/musician/studio owners in Dublin. We started working with him a while ago and he now has a facility most guys will envy.
His converted attic space is now acoustically controlled to make a very comfortable studio. Even though it’s less than huge, because of the treatment and a wise choice of gear, he’s making great recordings including live drums.

Check out his MySpace page to listen to his work. <<HERE>>

Willie Dunne has a great setup in the Midlands. He has a studio in a local community arts centre.
As a keyboard player he does a lot of Midi and production work for musicals while still having the capability to make finished masters, while also doing a lot of session keyboard work.
Recently he’s been working with Michael Flatley.
We’re currently working with Willie on his new project, a purpose built studio that will expand his client base to include full ensemble recording.

Mark McCabe is one of the guys in Ireland really pushing recording forward having a technical and musical understanding, combined with the ability to make things happen.  Coming from a Live Radio and DJ background Mark now runs a great studio in Wicklow.
He’s an RTE 2FM DJ and creator of the second biggest selling single in Ireland ever.
We hooked up with Mark this year to feed his voracious NEVE habit.
A recent project was the Mundy Live DVD.
Have a look - <<HERE>>

The boys at Egoboo Music have a cool set-up in Dublin 2. Greg and Al do a lot of advertising and film work ( a recent McDonalds ad for example ) . We’ve hooked them up with an Apogee AD16x to add to their Protools system  and a copy of Logic Audio. Have a look at what they do at <<HERE>>

Frank Kearns has a long and glorious history in the music biz. He went to school with U2 and was the guitar player with  Cactus World News.
Now Frank runs a Salt Recording studio in Sutton in Dublin. He’s developed a wonderful comfortable studio with both Digital (Protools) and analogue ( 2 inch Tape) equipment.
Frank also runs a ‘Rock School’ where budding musicians can learn from an expert.
We’ve supplied Frank with Apogee converters, a custom Auralex acoustic treatment and he’s currently looking at Neve and Portico converters. Take a peek at saltrecordingstudio.com

Colaiste Dhulaigh in Coolock is one of the longest established Multi-Media courses in Ireland whose students have gone on to employment in every part of the industry. In 2006 we upgraded their system to Pro-Tools HD with a Yamaha O2r desk. We also treated their rooms Acoustically with Auralex.  We think it’s a very cool system that allows them to make great recordings with industry standard equipment.
Have a look at colaistedhulaigh.ie  for more info.

We recently installed 5 Studios for the Council for the Blind. They make Tapes and CDs of Newspapers, Magazines and books for the Blind community plus other Vocal based work.
They’ve had a bespoke acoustic refit in their new premises. Their recording rooms were built offsite,  shipped to Finglas and fitted complete with Air Con and cable ducts etc.
Here you’ll see John from Audio Warehouse going through the Soundcraft Ghost with Con from the Council for the Blind.

James Blennerhassett is one of the busiest session bass players in Ireland with credits from The Rolling Stones, The Chieftains to his current gig, playing the low notes for Mary Black. James has recently set up a new studio in the wilds of Roscommon that's a bit different to most. James' setup is all in one room. So vocals, drums ,bass, guitars etc.
often go down live together often without the artists wearing headphones. This creates a much different vibe than your standard studio with the interaction of the musicians being emphasized. As James plays on most sessions it makes the engineering and playing easier for him. James will soon be expanding his studio installing a 5.1 system to allow him to work with film.

Dave Slevin and Barry Dempsey have a very cool Dublin 1 address and studio. Running Pro-Tools HD with Apogee I/O coupled with some esoteric desks and outboard makes for a studio that's full of personality. You'll notice the Auralex Acoustics too which does a great job of the control room. Dave's more the traditional recording engineer while Barry is more the Electronica Guru. Between them the have a lot of skill and experience. They don't just run the place as a Studio either, www.virtustudios.ie run a great school too. Check out www.myspace.com/virtustudios. Relaxing on the desk is Dave (we don't recommend this as a rule!) and on the right Gavin Glass who's just made an album with Dave. www.myspace.com/gavinglass

Audio Warehouse recently installed a 36 Channel Audient ASP8024 desk into the Music studio of the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. The studio is used for general music technology teaching and recording and Dr. Victor Lazarinni's work on 'Octophonic' 8 channel audio. Pictured here is Barbara Dignam from the faculty at the Audient.

Cauldron Studio combines technical excellence and studio 'personality' in the heart of Dublin.
Set in 2 adjoining Georgian house it's a busy commercial facility run by Bill Shanley and Ciaran Byrne.
Bill's current gig is touring guitar player with Ray Davies of the Kinks. Ciaran's background is in engineering U2 and Mettalica being two of his past clients.
Have a look <<HERE>> for more info!
4 Marcus McCarthy of the Music Watchtower in Clonakilty called last year to discuss a couple of recording issues he was having. We've sorted him out with some room treatment and added an Apogee Ad16x and a Neve 1073DPA to his gear.? He's now got a great sounding system. Notice the Auralex treatment about his mixing area and even though his room isn't huge he's still managed to position his monitors away from the walls to get the best results possible. Check out?

4Jealoustown Recording studio is a commercial facility near Dunshaughlin Co.Meath. Owned by multi instrumentalist/ Producer Stuart Gray it's one of the biggest in Ireland. Stuart built the whole place himself from scratch, which in itself is pretty impressive. Using Protools HD he has a great sounding very comfortable and stylish studio.
